For thousands of years, awakening and spiritual maturity have occurred primarily within a hierarchical context, which has, for the most part, also been patriarchal. Perhaps this was, at the time, necessary and good. Sometimes we feel lost and confused, even if we intuitively know there is a deeper dimension of who we are and of reality. It may feel impossible to embrace this inquiry on our own, so we turn to a savior, a guru, or a teacher for support.
These days things are rapidly changing. During the last few decades one Indian guru after another has fallen from their pedestal amongst revelations of some sort of hypocrisy. And, at the same time, we have seen the emergence of a completely different model for relaxing into awakening: a model that is co-creative.
